How bout putting up a gallery?
Admin Panel>Modules>Gallery
1. Add a category in "Management".
2. Set-Up the "Home page".
3. Enable and disable some of the things in "Configuration". Don't forget to bubble in yes for "Show the gallery"
3. Set-Up "Personal Albums".
4. Set-Up "Upload".
5. Set-Up "Preview".
6. Modify the colors if you want and the buttons in "Pictures and buttons".

A lot of setting up but it only takes about 3-5 minutes if you know what your doing.

Also if your techies used the hitskin thing for this site design then you don't have to worry about designing a picture at the top. it should come with the download they put in.
